If you have just ventured into the world of Deep Water Culture, one thing that you need to keep a close eye on is the pH levels of the water your precious roots are floating around in. It is incredibly easy to lose sight of this, and over a 24-hour period, the pH levels could go high enough to limit the growth of the plant, and potentially block their ability to utilize nutrients. If the nutrient solutions have low, acidic readings – it could cause salts to bind to nutrients and block the plants from getting them. High pH solutions and alkaline soils could lead to a buildup of toxic salts, that are not good for the plants either.

Hydroponic gardening is soil-less gardening. No soil! However, the plants need to be supported or held up.This is done with Hydroponic Growing Mediums which is a soil-less media... inert, non-organic materials. Hydroponic Growing Mediums act as an anchor to the plant to prevent it from falling over as it grows provides good drainage of nutrient solution and allows the flow of oxygen to the plant roots.
